Canada Safeway Foundation Building
The design started with thinking about the kids and a child's sense of playfulness and discovery. That idea lead the design team to the slated window wall design. The slated window walls allow for natural light to shine through the building and offers children panoramic views of waterfront and into the treetops while participating in programs indoors.
Built from sustainable materials and blending with the natural environment, the building leaves a very minimal footprint and uses very little power to operate.
Stantec Engineering uses a working name of "Sibbald Lantern". Closer to the unveiling we will have a permanent name, but in the picture below you will be able to see that lantern.
