Jim Prentice, MP for Calgary Centre-North and Minister of the Environment,
presented $10,000 to Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary for the Ready, Set, Go! Program.

The gift, from the Jim Prentice Foundation, will go directly to pre-school programs.

                   • Develop healthy self-esteem
                   • Learn to label their feelings and use positive strategies to
                     handle emotions (emotional literacy)

                   • Learn empathy for others (anti-bullying initiative)
                   • Participate in a wide variety of activities to enhance physical,
emotional, social, and cognitive development with creativity

                   • Participate in activities to enhance readiness for Kindergarten
including pre-reading, pre-math, and pre-science skills as well
