The Hangar is a safe place that helps build a positive sense of self through supportive adult mentors and engaging activities that challenge and enrich the mind, body and spirit of each member. Club programs focus on building life skills, and social and emotional competencies.
Facility and Program Update:
As of September 1st, 2017, the Hangar will not be continuing with registered after-school programs. If you are looking for after-school programming, please check out our other city-wide Club locations. For opportunities to participate in programs at the Hangar, please read below.
Hangar Climbing Program
The Hangar will be offering registered climbing programs Winter 2018 for youth. Programs will focus on top-rope climbing, bouldering and belaying in a safe, supportive environment. Kids will build confidence and develop positive relationships as they learn how to put on a harness, tie climbing knots and learn various climbing techniques. Contact Julianne Knopp at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our email list.
Hangar Music Studio Program
The Hangar Music Studio is a free program that can be accessed by youth ages 12-24. In this program, youth are given the opportunity to record music (original or covers) and be taught about the music industry by our Child & Youth Music Program Facilitator.
At Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary, we are passionate about providing youth with the opportunity to express themselves by creating music, while simultaneously creating a safe space for all. This means that explicit content cannot be recorded here.
To book studio time visit www.bookstudiotime.acuityscheduling.com. The schedule is released every Wednesday.
