Ready, Set, Go! Preschool and Family program is a low cost, play-based preschool program for 3 - 5 year olds that also includes a parenting component to support families with the joys and challenges of parenting.

Ready, Set, Go! Preschool and Family Program takes advantage of an optimum time in a child's development to encourage and support learning, early literacy, socialization, creativity, physical growth, problem solving skills, and emotional literacy.

What Happens at Ready, Set, Go?

Through a variety of play based experiences children in the program:

  • Learn to share, solve problems, and to function in a group
  • Increase language and socialization skills
  • Develop a healthy self-esteem
  • Learn to label their feelings
  • Have fun!

How Will This Program Help Me As a Parent?

The program offers parents the opportunity to:

  • Attend groups and workshops about positive discipline, child development, and the importance of play
  • Meet one-on-one with a teacher or parent support worker to discuss specific parenting challenges or to access referrals to other community agencies
  • Connect with other parents and share experiences
  • Participate in volunteer opportunities in the classroom and see and hear many different ways to encourage play, learning, and emotional literacy
  • Participate in breathing classes to assist in managing the stress of parenting (Bowness Location)
  • Parent Talk Programs are also available through Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary's Community Clubs

How Much Does it Cost?

  • Fees are based on a sliding fee scale.
  • Families may be eligible for the Stay-At-Home Parent Subsidy Program through the Alberta Government.
