What is SCRIPT?

SCRIPT is a youth-centered program that engages and supports youth in their stories as they journey towards adulthood and healthy, positive futures. SCRIPT is a metaphor for the program and for life: we all have our own stories that we live out with our lives. SCRIPT respects each youth story and believes that our scripts can be changed at any point to move us towards a hope-filled story. Our overall mission is to empower youth to discover their strengths, build their own healthy communities of support, and connect them to resources and activities that are life affirming. Both our philosophy and our program are built around 4 key areas: choice, strengths, community and connection.

Who is SCRIPT for?

SCRIPT is designed to support youth who are experiencing issues of homelessness or involved with street life, ages 13 - 20.

What does SCRIPT DO?

SCRIPT is designed to meet youth where they are at in their lives, whether that is basic needs support such as housing, food, and health, or other areas such as schooling, employment, community, arts, recreation, and culture. Our team works with youth on a one-to- one basis, as well as offers activities and programs for groups of youth in the community.

How does SCRIPT work?

The SCRIPT program is structured to provide support to youth within a program and in the community. It provides various ways for youth to connect and engage in intentionally authoring a healthier life story. The SCRIPT team will work with and support youth in developing goals in key life areas that are important to them. Youth just need to call the SCRIPT number, connect with one of the team, and let us know what your goals and needs are.

Where is SCRIPT located?

"We'll come to you!" The first phase of SCRIPT is a community-based, outreach program. We recognize and value the importance of existing resources and supports in the community and will work to connect youth to community resources that are relevant to their goals.

Youth can access outreach support Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm by calling 828-HOPE.
Youth may also access SCRIPT at "The SHOP" in Marlborough Mall from Monday to Friday, 9am - 9pm.

You can reach the SCRIPT team by calling: 828-HOPE
