We are excited to announce that Aspen Family and Community Network Society (Aspen) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary (BGCC) have decided to come together and merge our agencies to create a new, unified organization that ensures stronger supports for the young people, families, and communities that we serve. We envision a huge potential for these two agencies aligning, merging and transforming into ONE BIG DOOR. Together, we will create an even greater continuum of services to support people on every step of their journey.
Please watch this video message from Jeff Dyer, CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary, and Shirley Purves, CEO of Aspen, to learn about the vision for the new organization.
Together these organizations offer more than 120 years of service to Calgarians tackling issues that include youth and family homelessness, social isolation, parenting and child intervention challenges and poverty. Last year, BGCC served nearly 4,500 children and youth, and members of their families. Aspen served 4,400 children, youth and parents, and welcomed an additional 30,000 individuals who accessed services in their community spaces
Our new name and brand will be announced in the fall of 2020.
