Calgary, AB – After a comprehensive nationwide search, Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Dyer as its Chief Executive Officer, effective January 12, 2017.
Jeff will assume the role from Cheryl Doherty, who will retire after 43 years with Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary, and 16 years as its CEO. Under her leadership, Cheryl built a non-profit agency known across the country for innovation, efficiency and organizational excellence. A passionate leader, Cheryl tirelessly challenged the Calgary community to make a difference in the lives of kids who need help most.
In the non-profit community, the appointment of Jeff is important as it shows the shift to the new wave of leaders in the sector. Jeff has served in the not for profit sector for 20 years, leading as the Executive Director of Gull Lake Centre, as the Chief Operating Officer of The Mustard Seed, and most recently as the Chief Executive Officer of Accessible Housing. As CEO for Accessible Housing, Jeff more than doubled the size of the organization over three years. His drive, energy and success leading the organization garnered recognition from Avenue Magazine as a Top 40 under 40 in Calgary.
Jeff’s expertise in connecting personal values with organizational vision and his gift for building relationships will ensure Cheryl’s legacy and her work within the community will continue.
