Program Fee Refunds
Due to program closures, Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary is providing a prorated refund on preschool, as well as all PD Days, Spring Camp, and our Spring Block of programs held from March 16 to June 30.
Summer camp registrations are still being taken as we monitor progress toward flattening the curve on the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since the pandemic was declared, and in sync with the government-ordered closure of schools, Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary has suspended all non-essential services including our afterschool clubs, preschools, youth employment programs, targeted evening programs for newcomer and Indigenous youth as well as our school-based programs: All In For Youth and Hera.
All registrations for preschool, PD Days, Spring Camps and our Spring Block of programs scheduled from March 16 to June 30 will receive an automatic refund cheque, mailed to the address we have on file for you. Cheques will be mailed by March 31, and should be anticipated in your mailbox early April.
No action is required on your part to receive this refund. That said, we are inviting those who are able to please consider donating their fees in support of other Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary programs outlined below. If you would like to donate any portion of your pre-paid fees, please let us know and we will adjust your refund and supply a tax receipt during the month of April.
During this time of uncertainty, closures have allowed us to focus our energy and resources on many of the programs we offer for young people in particularly vulnerable circumstances: our group homes, the Avenue 15 emergency shelter, and our community-based housing programs for youth working to end their experience with homelessness.
For these young people, Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary is where they find home and a sense of belonging. More than a place to sleep, this is where they find kindness, community and the support to meet all of their basic needs.
We understand that this is a time of uncertainty for everyone and not all of you will be in a position to donate your program fees, please don’t feel bad about that.
We continue to listen to local and international authorities on the pandemic, to do our part to “flatten the curve”, while planning future learning, fun and employment opportunities for youth. Registration for summer camps remains open until June 1, at which point we commit to update you on all Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary programs.

We are currently pulling together resources and will be offering simple activities and options to engage children and youth on our social media channels and website. These will include resources related to talking to kids about uncertainty, as well as fun things, crafts and cooking activities while everyone’s at home together.
